The Hempsters Documentary film is on the move this spring, helping educate about Hemp and picking up the momentum for their upcoming film tour. The Hempsters films are a five-part series documenting the Hemp movement from the struggle to legalize through progress in the US and around the globe, and even Hemp’s history with indigenous peoples.
Producer Diana Oliver, Co Producer and On-Camera Interviewer Eva Silva, and Associate Producer Alex Brant-Zawadski will emcee the Media Room at the Second Annual NoCo Hemp Expo on April 4th (http://www.nocohempexpo.com/). The Expo takes place at The Ranch Events Complex in Loveland, Colorado. The Hempsters Team is thrilled to be a part of the Expo, the largest Hemp-centric gathering of Hemp Businesses, Educators and Supporters of Industrial and Medicinal Hemp in the United States. The full-day event features more than 60 Hemp related companies and 30+ expert speakers covering the spectrum of Hemp topics and more than 25,000 uses.
The Hempsters film series begins with the award winning Doc/Film “Hempsters: Plant the Seed”, starring Woody Harrelson, Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, Stephen Jenkins of Third Eye Blind, Ralph Nader, Alex White Plume, Julia Butterfly Hill and Craig Lee to name just a few. This multi-award winning documentary was released via DVD by Cinema Libre Studios, www.cinemalibrestudios.com and via Amazon, Hulu, iTunes, NetFlix, Canadian Blockbuster & Free Speech TV. It was later picked up at Cannes 2012 for Distribution in Germany, France, and the United Kingdom.
The second in the series, “Hempsters: An American Revolution”, began filming at the 2012 Hemp Heals Festival. Hempsters film crews were also on site in May 2013, to capture the first credited 65 acre Hemp planting on in Springfield, CO, featuring maverick Hemp farmer Ryan Loflin, RockymountainHemp.com. Filming continues this summer, covering 23 states as the US progresses with legalization of Industrial Hemp and features interviews with farmers, activists, athletes, doctors, and celebrities.
The Hempsters Crew will also visit 9 Canadian Provinces to film Hempsters Canada: Seeds of Growth, documenting this country’s thriving Hemp industry.
Slated for 2017, are the two final documentaries in the series. “Hempsters: Indigenous Nation” will document the legalization of growing Hemp on Native American sovereign territory. “Hempsters World” will chronicle the history and evolution of thriving Hemp Industries in countries that have legally grown Hemp for hundreds of years.
Partnering with the Hempsters Doc/Film Series is multi-award winning Alternate Ending Studios (AES) Producer Zach Hagen and Director Jason Krawczyk (www.alternateendingstudios.com). The team will travel in a mobile production van, documenting the Hemp Movement and all relevant players: Celebrities endorsing Hemp Farming & Hemp Products, Hemp Entrepreneurs, Lawmakers, Policy experts, Scientists, Advocates, Economists, Farmers, Industry Leaders, and the Public. Behind the scenes footage will be documented to be released in real-time format as we film via Social Media outlets during production, generating a Living Hemp Movement!
