Natures plus organic hemp wafflesTop 5 Frozen Waffles! – Chicagonow.com

On the days you don’t want oatmeal or a healthy cereal, and egg whites just aren’t enough, indulge in vegan waffles. Though many of them do have a higher salt content (around 350 mg to 400 mg per two waffles), you can purchase them wheat and gluten free and top them with almond butter, blueberries or walnuts and a little agave nectar for a perfect start to the day. Here’s a list of my personal top 5 favorites!

1. VAN’S TOTALLY NATURAL WAFFLES (230 calories; 7 grams fat; 1 gram fiber)
These waffles are slightly sweet and crispy and are incredible decadent. They are wheat and gluten free, dairy free, egg free and are made with no artificial flavors. Instead of wheat flour, they are made with brown rice flour, potato starch, rice flour and soy flour.

2. NATURE’S PATH HOMESTYLE (270 calories; 10 grams fat; 2 grams fiber)
These gluten free, organic waffles are made from brown rice flour, corn flour and potato starch. Though higher in fat and calories than most of the others, they have a filling, slightly sweet taste.

3. VAN’S MULTIGRAIN BELGIAN WAFFLES (190 calories; 7 grams fat; 6 grams fiber)
These thick belgian waffles toast up crispy and the deep grooves are perfect for chunky toppings. With 6 grams of fiber, these waffles are made with 8 whole grain mixes (whole wheat, oat, barley, brown rice, dark rye, quinoa, amaranth and millet flour).

4. VAN’S ORGANICS FLAX WITH VITAMIN BOOST (200 calories; 8 grams fat; 6 grams fiber)
If you are looking for a dose of fiber, vitamins A, B and C, as well as 4% of your daily value for iron, these are your waffles. With 6 grams of fiber and 5 grams of protein, these waffles are tasty, crispy and are made with whole wheat flour, organic flax meal, and organic oat fiber.

5. NATURE’S PATH HEMP PLUS (200 calories; 8 grams fat; 5 grams fiber)
These waffles have the buttery taste of hemp seeds tucked inside a whole wheat waffle. Packed with flaxseeds, hemp seeds, and oat bran, these waffles are a tasty start to your day.
