Response to Crisis as Simple as CBD: Preventative Measures Against Stress, Anxiety, and a Global Pandemic

CBD ExtractionTo say 2020 is tumultuous would be an understatement. As the world experiences a global viral pandemic, and our country faces increasing tension with social justice movements, stress and anxiety can easily arise as our daily lives are affected by various changes, shifts, and fears. Collective societal anxiety and unrest have sparked ideas and calls for ways for people to decompress and find ease of mind.

Enter CBDs.

This craving for relaxation and mental calm may prompt people to look towards healing CBD products. Going forward, using CBDs as a preventative measure for several health and wellness reasons may be the key to unlocking their true power. Research done by scientists in the ’90s revealed that humans naturally embody endocannabinoids whose function is to promote homeostasis in the body. Furthermore, cannabis researchers have found links between the compound and brain-to-body communication. This capability nurtures equilibrium in the body and mind.

Endocannabinoid receptors are found all throughout the human body including our skin, immune cells, and heart. When external cannabidiol (CBD) is introduced into the body, it can interact with our naturally present endocannabinoid system to cultivate a sense of ease and balance. More information on the scientific reasons CBDs present interesting therapeutic applications can be found here.

In recent years, CBD products like tinctures, serums, and lotions have inundated the market with claims that argue such products can be used to encourage relaxation with the intention of mitigating symptoms of conditions like anxiety and depression. Because CBD consists of antioxidants that are similar to ones found in healthy foods like fruits and vegetables, consuming CBD can be perceived as a way to maintain overall human health and vitality—proactively, not only reactively. Along this line, CBD is known to reduce the risk of neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease as well as preventing bone degeneration and heart disease.

Did we mention that CBDs were recently linked to potentially preventing contracting COVID-19 (the novel coronavirus)?

Put simply, CBDs may be the perfect pre-emptive way to help keep your mind and body in a state of well-being in the face of an unknown (and possibly stressful) future.
